Avatar the last airbender the promise
Art: The artwork is top notch perfect representation for the show it captures the same look and feel perfectly A

Characters: Aang, Katara, zuko, and many more. The characters felt in character which can and is hard to do sometimes. Aang for the most part feels in character he is still all for peace and doing whats right out of context some parts near the end feel OOC but if you think about it they are not that far out of left field. While she got some great action scenes Katra seemed to have gotten pushed to the side in terms of character development same with toph and sokka. Zuko gained some character development however and his views were very insightful towards the end over all the characters grew and felt in character to the show A

Story: This was pitched as the “Bridge” between what happens after Avatar and how we get “Legend off korra” showing how the world in korra kind of started. That is true thats what this story is. This story is for the fans of avatar and it shows from little things (space rock, foamy) to bigger things (mention of the war or key plot points in avatar the last airbender) the plot is for the fans. So what is the plot? You'll have to see for yourself no really its just that good and if one were write it out it wouldn't sound as good as it is. This is a very plot moving comic with lots of character growth (Zuko asking Aang is he ever goes dark side to kill him very angst) between all three books the story is wrapped up nicely leaving a cliffhanger that EVERY FAN wants to know
What happened to Zukos mother?
However what comes with that cliffhanger you will have to read and see. This story is one you can't read with out watching all three seasons of Avatar the last airbender but you could read knowing nothing about Korra A

Cover: All three covers are well done and really show the change in these characters B

Rating: A for all

Company: Dark horse

My rating : 5 of 5. Part of my Sloppiness on this review is that I'm tiered the other part is really I'm not sure what I could say to get non fans interested in a comic that is made for fans. The mini story arch here was nice I feel that “the promise” lied in one way: This doesn't tell the whole story like we were lead to think. Yes this does bridge the gap on how Mako and Bolin can be brothers and different benders yes this does give us that awnser....however the story seems to continue and lie within the biggest question of Avatar lore which is What happened to zukos mother. With that I'm excited for the next round of comics with that question being answered
